Hi, I'm Cait and I like languages.
I don't think I'm very good at them but I do like them.
I'm one of those people who can remember phrases and do passable accents but can't remember grammar rules. This means that I can probably speak with people and I might get my point across but I probably sound like a cave woman.
I'm not sure if it's better or worse than understanding the mechanics of a language but not having the confidence to speak it easily, probably worse. At least a shy person with a good grasp of the language might be forced to say something. With me the knowledge to speak well just doesn't seem to be there.
Languages I can butcher on a basic conversational level.
German
Japanese
Languages I can say a bit in but that I know so little of that I can't mess up the grammar on.
French
Welsh
Languages I seem to know a lot more of than I consciously learned. (I'm from Texas. I think it's proximity)
Spanish.
This blog is to document differences in grammar and languages. I plan to make observations and go on rants and just generally work things out. If people are interested, cool but I'm mostly doing this because I want to figure out stuff. I'll also probably post language learning resources that I like.
